Greetings hustler! You've reached the warrior rank. You've done very well so far; the next 10 tasks will focus on you becoming a warrior. Training your body and the importance of exercising. The right way to sleep, etc. Let’s get right into it, shall we? Very well, you want to become a warrior. I see. The first task will focus on sleep; generally, the average human should sleep about 7–8 hours per day for the optimal amount of sleep. If you sleep for too long, it can have serious consequences later in life, like heart disease, strokes, or diabetes. If you have slept for 10–12 hours before, you might have noticed that you have no energy throughout the day. If you don’t get enough sleep, you're not only shortening your life expectancy, but also putting yourself at risk of heart disease and anxiety later on. Many people suffer from too much or poor sleep. You're going to fix that right now by managing your day in such a way that you always get around 7–8 hours of sleep. That way, you feel energized throughout the day. The right amount of sleep helps with brain function, keeps weight under control, and also keeps your emotions in check. I myself struggled for years with the right amount of sleep, and anxiety, low energy, and no motivation were the results. If you're aiming for 7 hours of sleep, be in bed 30 minutes before you would have 7 hours of sleep. For example, if you wake up at 6:00 am and are in bed at around 10:30 pm, you have approximately 30 minutes to signal your body, I'm going to sleep. As we get older, our IQ decreases, drastically decreasing the amount our IQ diminishes over time.
Sleep doesn’t only affect your body’s mental health but also your physical health. The best sleeping posture is if you sleep straight on your back because it supports the spine in the most efficient way. Sleeping sideways can lead to your spine hurting, and in worst-case scenarios, it can even move your spine into an unnatural position. The next time you go to bed, try falling asleep while you're lying on your back.
Breathing is the most important thing you can do to survive as a human, but many people nowadays don’t even breathe the right way. A lot of people nowadays inhale through the mouth, which is terrible because it sets back the lower half of their jaw. That’s the so-called mouth breather; you should only inhale through your nose. The amount you're inhaling through your nose is the amount of oxygen your body needs. The nose hair filters bacteria and dust; it also helps your lungs absorb oxygen more efficiently. Focus on breathing through your nose, and remind yourself to do so if you catch yourself breathing through the mouth.
Every warrior needs to look confident in themselves, and body language is a big indicator of how confident you look to others. Most people have terrible posture because they sit all day or look at their phones. I need you to stand up straight, roll back your shoulders, and slightly lift your head. The same goes for sitting down. If you've got a hollow back, clench your buttocks and cheeks. Now look at yourself in the mirror. This is the posture you should have 24/7.
This task might be harder for some and easier for others. The task will focus on eye contact. If you’re shy or introverted and you struggle to hold eye contact with other people, here are a few tips: if you’re holding eye contact with someone, try to look him or her in the eyes for no longer than 7–10 seconds; after that, it probably will get uncomfortable for the opposite. If you talk to multiple people, hold eye contact with one person for about 3–5 seconds and then go to the next person. One look is a very good rule to go by. Don't think too much about yourself and how you could be awkward or how you could calm yourself down; instead, try to calm the other person down by engaging with them. A warrior needs to look confident, and the number two indicator of your confidence is eye contact; number one is your posture. Next time you talk to someone, make sure you’re holding eye contact.
Another thing you should bring to the table are hand gestures. Hand gestures are the only other effective tool to get your message across other than your voice. It creates a more dramatic effect when you talk and also makes the topic you’re talking about way more interesting and engaging. The next time you're having a conversation, incorporate the hand gesture.
Set yourself boundaries; don’t do everything people want from you. This will not only boost your confidence, but also make people respect you more. No one wants to be pushed over. To prevent that, you have to set your own boundaries, because if you don’t, what ends up happening is that people will start to take advantage of you. Next time a friend wants something from you, and you have more important things to do, simply don’t do it. People will respect you more if you say no instead of saying yes to everything.
Already the second-to-last quest. Great! This will be the follow-up task for the seventh one. Set yourself boundaries, pt. 2, if you so desire; this one's slightly different, though. Instead of focusing on what people want from you, this task will focus on how people treat you. If someone says something you don’t approve of, tell him or her that. If someone makes a snarky comment about you, ask the person to elaborate on it. Ask why the person said what he said. Basically, the next time you disapprove of someone’s point of view, tell them your point of view. This will establish a sort of mutual respect and also enhance your talking skills.
This task might be considered selfish by some and smart by others, but no matter what, you should always prioritize your life and goals over someone else's. Who do I really have besides myself? It is a question that I have asked myself countless times in the past. The answer is no one; you have friends and family, but you've been placed in the world alone and you will leave it alone. No one’s dying with you or getting born with you. In the end, it's these types of people who win, not because they're selfish or ignorant, but because they value themselves and their priorities above everything else. So, what you need to start doing now, and I mean right now, is to live your life in a way that prioritizes your goals and to not live for others; it's only then that you really start living your life.
Good! You've reached the final task! Every warrior needs to exercise, no matter their height, weight, age, or gender. Exercising your body has a positive impact on your mental state. You release various chemicals in your body, such as dopamine, the most important molecule for achieving something. So, by exercising your body, you automatically exercise your brain. You'll establish more discipline if you exercise on a regular basis. It also strengthens your bones and muscles, improves your brain's health, and improves your ability to do everyday activities. What you could do is go to the gym regularly, and what I mean by regularly is multiple times a week. Calisthenics is also a very good option, but you could also go running, swimming, hiking, or boxing; there are countless options for you to pick from. The point is that you exercise your body on a day-to-day basis. A genuine rule of thumb is to use workouts to gain muscle, dieting to burn fat, and cardio to improve your overall health and longevity. Very good! You've completed the 10 tasks; you're now on the right path to becoming a real warrior. Congratulations! We shall talk again in the next rank!
